Jon Carmichael was a 13-year-old eighth grade student from Joshua, Texas who took his own life in late March 2010.  Jon hung himself in his parents barn.  He had been bullied at school.  One of the last instances of which he had been picked up during PE class and dumped into a trash can at school.

Jon’s mother said, “It is her heartfelt hope that no other family experience this kind of loss,” the pastor said. “If anything can be learned in the wake of Jon’s death it is how we care for one another is very, very important. It is more important than we may realize at a particular moment.”

The school superintendent said “Nobody has been able to tell me [of] any outcries from the child or students on his behalf, or from outside the school”
