As a philanthropist chef, Bruno Serato has given much to his community. Through his Caterina’s Club (named after his mother), whose mission is: “To provide every child the resources, love, and encouragement they need to be healthy, safe, and educated.” Caterina’s Club provides over 1800 children hot meals each week, via the 34 locations worldwide (and is accepting applications for new locations).

Here in Washington State, 20 percent of the state’s children live within homes which are “food insecure,” according to Northwest Harvest?  How many children in your locale are in a food insecure environment.

From the Orange County Register:

Two days after a fire ripped through his beloved Anaheim White House Restaurant, Bruno Serato said the children he helps feed at Boys & Girls Clubs and other nonprofits nearly every day gives him the strength to stay focused.

“I feel better, because I’m taking care of my priorities,” Serato said. “The first priority is the children. The second priority is my crew. … I have about 60 employees. I need to make sure they all find a job. I’m not worried about me. I’m last.”

Chef Bruno’s efforts epitomize goodness, we need more individuals like Chef Bruno in our communities. Give some thought of joining his mission, Caterina’s Club, and bringing meals to the children in your community which may be in need.
