Vacation – Do You?

My family and I love to vacation.  We tend to plan well in advance to take advantage of both good prices as well as raise the odds we can stay and travel on the itinerary we desire, vice the itineraries available (i.e., left over).  We are drawn to warm weather and sunshine, so in keeping with my motto to talk about where you’ve been and not where you are I’ll talk about a trip we recently took to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Why Mexico – warmth, proximity, food, beaches, language.  I firmly believe in the need to “disconnect” and thus rebalance the inner fulcrum which keeps the worklife balance in swing and the batteries recharged.  Here is a short video which pretty much summarizes this recent vacation.

As you view the video, you’ll note two delicous dishes which were served up to us at a new restaurant in the Marina District of Puerto Vallarta, Rio’s d’Sudamerica, which serves to-die-for Peruvian cuisine.

Le Kliff is a destination  restaurant, about a 20 minute drive south of Puerto Vallarta located just before the village/beach of Mismalyo.

The beach front restaurants are located at a beach called Las Ánimas, a water taxi service runs from downtown Puerto Vallarta to the beach.

Club Regina and Villa Vera are part of the Raintree Vacation Club (timeshares).

The boat we were on is a private “panga” one of two owned by “Flecha” – their names are “La Oficina” and “Azul Profundo” – you can find Flecha in the Puerto Vallarta Marina.

The Mexican Fiesta was at Rancho Palma Real, about a 40 minute drive NE out of Puerto Vallarta. We gave this “fiesta” a big thumbs up, and as you can see, Kathy enjoyed meeting the dancing horse and burro.

I’ve already been asked, why was Charlie the Tuna released?  Kathy gave Charlie a reprieve once he looked her in the eye.

All in all, Puerto Vallarta remains one of our favorite destinations to unplug.
